Highlights from the Cornmarket Irish Motorcyclist of the Year and 25th Anniversary.

The last Friday of January was the annual Cornmarket Motorbike Awards, the biggest Irish Motorcycle event of the year. The Cornmarket Irish Motorcyclist of the Year, in association with Enkalon motorcycle club, is the longest standing motorcycle accolade and voted for by the public.

For the second year in a row, back to back Superbike World Champion Jonathan Rea was presented with the Cornmarket trophy in front of 550 guests at Belfast’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The awards are particularly significant for Cornmarket as 2017 is the 25th Anniversary of the company enthusiastically supporting the Motorcycle Insurance market. Cornmarket Motorbike Insurance act as major players helping riders, the motorcycling community and devoting time and resources to numerous events and initiatives

Kawasaki presented Rea with a specially commissioned painting of his triumphant race in Qatar.

Dungannon man John Burrows was awarded the Special Recognition Award with to acknowledge his contribution to motorcycling as a rider and team owner.
