Adelaide Masters Series champions 2015 to be crowned at Mondello Park

The final three rounds of the Adelaide Masters Series 2015 will run over two days on the Mondello Park International Track on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of October with three of the four main championships still to be decided.

Having kicked off in April the fourteen race series sponsored by Adelaide Motorbike Insurance, has provided some spectacular action across the four events held so far, at Mondello Park in County Kildare and Bishopscourt County Down. Going into the final weekend the Superbike and Supersport titles, along with the Supersport ‘Cup’ series have all still to be decided, with Edward Comerford the only confirmed champion having wrapped up the Superbike ‘Cup’ class at Bishopscourt in August.

Derek Sheils heads for Mondello Park with the Superbike title almost sown up and if he can find the extra thirteen points required he will become the first ever double winner of the Adelaide Masters Superbike Series. Gerard Kinghan is Sheils closest rival with Bishopscourt race winner Ryan Rainey third. Fellow Bishopscourt winner David Haire will make his Mondello Park return riding his Ducati Panigale and should really add to the action at the head of the field.

Also in an almost unassailable position is the Supersport class leader, Robert English, who needs just three points from the first race of the weekend, or for second placed rider Conor Parkhill to fail to win, in order to be crowned champion. Parkhill in turn is well clear of Robert Kennedy, Nikki Coates and Luke Johnston who will battle it out for third place. The Supersport Cup division is much closer with Gary O’Brien, Paul Gaffney and Dean Fishbourne all capable of lifting the trophy.

In the support classes all of the titles are still to be decided with the closest being the Pre-Injection and Lightweight Supersport classes where both battles will more than likely continue until their final race on Sunday. Alongside the Championship battles there will also be non-championship events for Classics and the more modern Classic Superbikes.
